Water-Saving Tips

Installing a low-flow showerhead is the single most effective conservation step that can be taken inside the home.

Low-flow showerheads use only 2.5 gallons per minute (gpm) or less of water, compared to 3 to 5 gpm for older showerheads.

Try taking a five to eight minute shower instead of a fifteen-minute shower.

Wash your car on your lawn to capture water and nutrients for grass growth.

Also, use a bucket of soapy water for washing and a hose-end spray gun or nozzle with anĀ automatic shut off for rinsing.

Adjust your lawn mower to a height of 1.5 to 2 inches. Tall grass grows longer roots, which can reach deeper moisture and shades the roots.
